Short Getaway @ Penang Part 1

4th September 2013.
Finally, I'm back. Gotta finish this post while the memory is still fresh. And because I'm toooooo forgetful, so yeah, here I am :)
Just so all of you know, I'm having intern now in one of the hotel in Penang since July, and I can say that it's one of the most boring place that I've ever been yet I have no choice but to stay until October, which marks the end of my training. The reason why I say Penang is boring is because the place where the hotel is located is quite far from Gurney and Batu Ferringhi, all the fun places and where tourist will usually go. Penang is famous for it's hawker food but I haven't try a single thing. Yet :( And although this island is so small, but it's hard to travel around without a car and I'm not familiar with the public transports, so all I do after work is hide inside my room and watch movie -.- One day seems like a month to me until..........

THEY CAME!!!

Yayyyyy! I love the fact that someone actually took the initiative to travel for hours just to see me :') The moment when I received the whatsapp saying: 'Guess what? We're here!' My heart was pounding all the time! Soooo much gratitude to them :') They arrive around 12.30pm and the bad thing is I still have to work until 6pm! that few hours is really killing me as I can't wait to go and have fun with them. During that few hours, they went to Queensbay mall and come back with ridiculous much amount of junk food! And a bar of chocolate that brings up so much memories :')

And finally when I'm done with my work, I went to change immediately and went up to the hotel room. Oh yeah, I booked 2 rooms for them with a super cheap price. It's almost 50% cheaper :D Thanks to my manager *90 degrees bow* All of us was so tired so we spent some time resting in the hotel room and finally when we're awake (because of hunger basically) It's already 7.30pm. Get ready and went out to Batu Ferringhi for yummy food! :) *errr, was too hungry, no time for any pics* Asian not at work this time :p Went back to hotel immediately after dinner because the next day will be a long long day.Had some quality time spent by watching the greatest movie in the entire world: Titanic. Leonardo Di Caprio is doubtless the hottest guy in my heart :)

After the great but sad movie, we slept around 3.30am. HOMYGOSH! who said she was tired and she should sleep early?! *it's me* :( All I thought at that time was sleep is for the weak :p hahaha we got up around 9.30am the next morning for breakfast. Surprisingly, we can still make it for breakfast even though we only had very limited sleeping hours. And here we go! To the mall! HAHAHA. It should be a food trip to penang but I guess we girls just couldn't resist all the pretty dresses, shoes and cosmetics. So we went to Gurney Paragon after a short discussion during breakkie. A new mall which is quite far away from us.

Took some shameless selfie during the long journey :p

Saw this in H&M, but there's nothing good enough to be grab by us :(

We will usually spend most of our money in H&M but this time, we spend on Padini instead :) Beatrice bought a top and a dress, while I bought the same dress (because it's on sales, 1 for RM49, 2 for RM69) and a pair of sunglasses for RM40 only! :D Then we went to Sephora and Michael Kors. Saw a ultimate gorgeous bag there but I didn't get it because it's a lil too pricy :( After going to a few stores, we decided to go for some yummy sushi at my favourite Japanese restaurant Sushi Zanmai but the queue was ridiculously long and we were all hungry, so we changed our mind and went to Rakuzen instead. The ambience and interior design of rakuzen is stunning and it wasn't that crowded :)

Ordered this which I obviously forget the name of this dish. But it was a mistake. It doesn't taste as good as what we expected :(

Cold soba should be the safest dish to order in any Japanese restaurant.

Not to forget, my forever, one and only love, Salmon Sashimi! ♥
This platter cost us RM35 and clearly over-priced. for 3 pieces of salmon, 3 salmon belly and salmon roe.

After the not-so-satisfying meal, we walked around the mall and snap another few shameless shots :p

Sea view from the mall :)

Finally, It's time for beach! :D But I will leave this for next post.
Till then :) Cheers
