Premiere Screening: The Maze Runner

So, I was once again, lucky enough to watch The Maze Runner, huge thanks to Nuffnang :)

The Maze Runner is a movie adaption of the best-selling-post-apolcalyptic novel written by James Dashner. I was really excited for this movie mostly because of the cast. hahahah :p The cast was absolutely PERFECT! This film was beyond amazing.

It is so pleased to see hot young cast in movie, but if you ask me did the actors/actress live up to the characters portrayed?

YES! ABSOLUTELY YESSSSS! ♥ Each and everyone of them play a super important role in the movie that make the whole movie a success. *thumbs up*

Alby, Teresa, Chuck, Thomas, Newt, Minho and Gally :) Played by Aml AmeenKaya Scodelario, Blake Cooper, Dylan O'BrienThomas Brodie-Sangster, Lee Ki-Hong and Will Poulter

One reason that I love this movie is there are no boring parts or scene where leads you to outer space and thinking 'when is this going to get interesting?' I don't wanna spoil the movie because this is not like any other movies where they leave you miserable, trying to figure out what is happening. Every details is played so well and I guess I will spoil it if I type it all out here. You just gonna watch it yourself :)

But I guess I will still tell how the movie starts, here we go:

When Thomas wakes up in the lift, he couldn't remember anything, not even his name. He was frightened, and surrounded by boys who lost their memories just like him. They were stucked in a place called 'the Glade'. Outside the towering stone that surround the Glade is a limitless, ever-changing maze. It is clearly the only way out but no one ever made it through alive. Alby, the first arrival, and Newt form the leadership team, and enforcer Gally provides any physical persuasion required to keep everyone in line performing their assigned tasks. There's also gardeners and goat herders provision the camp, craftsmen fashion shelter and tools, but the Runners get the most respect.

'Everything is going to change'

Then a girl arrives. The first girl ever. And the message she bring is terrifying.

'She is the last one ever'

'I think its time to find out what we're up against' - Thomas

The wall where everyone carves their name.

Minho!  :) Because he deserve a picture on his own :p

Too much perfection in this pic *faint*

From left, Minho, Thomas and Newt

Because Newt looks absolutely hot here.

Solo pic of the wonderful cast that make this movie perfect.

Overall, this movie is exciting, fun, and thrilling. It attracts all my attention from the moment it began

Remember. Survive. Run.

Make sure all of you check this movie out if you haven't! And if you wanna know why? Here you go!

Till then, xx

Premiere Screening Reviews: The Hundred-Foot Journey ♥

Food is the most basic thing that we need in order to survive. And I love food. Ones cannot imagine how much love I have for food and food alone. hahahaha xD Thanks to Nuffnang (again, I know :p) I had the chance to attend the screening of a new movie.

THE HUNDRED-FOOT JOURNEY

This movie tells a story of a clash between two culture, French and Indian. And it stars Helen Mirren, Om Puri, Manish Dayal and Charlotte Le Bon :) This movie was based on a novel by Richard C. Morais, tells the story of the Kadam family, led by Papa (Om Puri) and his son Hassan (Manish Dayal), a talented and promising and cute(?) chef. The Kadams decided to move to the most unlikely location, a quaint village in the South of France to start up with an Indian Restaurant, Maison Mumbai.

This displeased Madame Mallory (Helen Mirren), the imperious widowed owner of the Michelin-starred Le Saule Plereur. And she determined to have their business shut down. As cultures clash and food flies, a heated battle escalates between the 2 establishment, Madame Mallory and Papa Kadam also embroiled in a gastronomical war for ingredients.

Meanwhile, Hassan is determined to master classical French cooking techniques, and he received much assistance from the beautiful sous chef ( Charlotte Le Bon). I must say this, Charlotte's eyes is sooooo beautiful. Maybe that's why people came up with the quote 'Eyes is the window of your soul'.

I will not tell you the entire story or else I will spoil the fun, everyone of you who are reading this! Get your tickets and experience it. I wouldn't mind paying and watch it again because it's so so good :) I love the whole movie, from the start to the end, every character is so well portrayed and I love the musics, the story line and of course the food!

Food is memories - Hassan Kadam

Papa Kadam - A lovable and wonderful character

'I will turn the music down, but I will turn the heat up'

He looks like a bloody terrorist - Papa Kadam
(When he saw a picture of his son in the Magazine :p)

Marguerite - the beautiful and kind-hearted Sous Chef

'Five mother sauces. You must find them in your heart. Then, bring them to your pots. That's the secret.'

One of my favorite scene here.

Madame Mallory, I would like to make you an omelette :)

Proud Papa, trying his son's cuisine at Madame Mallory's place.

'Is he as good as I think he is?' - Papa
'Better' - Madame Mallory

Another favorite scene :')
'It's like having a almost girlfriend. Almost'

If you have not watch this or you're considering Lucy, I strongly suggest you to forget about Lucy and watch this instead. Read my reviews about Lucy here. This film has a tone that is entertaining, emotional as well as well-tuned to a generation that has much exposure to Masterchef episodes on AFC. Furthermore, Helen Mirren and Om Puri combination was beautiful :) ♥ What more to say? It is really worth watching!

Premiere Screening Review: Lucy

I am everywhere.

It's my first review of #NNpremierescreening, I know I'm lazy but I decided to write about this. No, it's not because the movie is good. If any of you considering to watch Lucy, I suggest you to watch The 100 Foot Journey instead (reviews coming up next!)

Lucy started off with animals, and monologue which I do not understand. Or probably didn't bother to think what is all that suppose to mean. To be honest, I can hardly remember what is happening but this is how the whole story started.

The movie stars Scarlett Johansson (plays Lucy), along with Morgan Freeman, Amr Waked and Choi Min Sik. As the poster shows, the whole movie is basically about what will happen to a person if they are able to utilize the 100% of their brain capacity.

Story starts when Lucy was forced to deliver a suitcase which contains a new type of drugc called CPH4 to Mr Jang (Choi Min-Sik). She was captured and a crazy huge bag of drug that she delivered was forcibly sewn into her abdomen. Another 3 drug mules and Lucy were sent to different part of Europe, mainly to transport the drug for sales. While Lucy is in captivity, she was harassed by one of her captors and when she fought back, the captors kicked her stomach, and cause the leakage of the drug into her body.

After the leakage, Lucy somehow realize that she can use 100% of her brain capacity, she don't feel pain and began to increase her physical and mental capabilities. She can do all the things that is beyond imagination, such as controlling others' movement. She then went to the hospital to get the bag of CPH4 removed from her body. Morgan Freeman plays Prof Samuel Norman which is a well known scientist and doctor who does researches about human brain, Lucy seek for Prof Norman's help and they worked together closely, Lucy discusses the nature of time and life and so on.

Choi Min-sik plays Mr Jang, evil and merciless guy. He was the guy behind who send Lucy and the other 3 drug mules to different parts of Europe and when Lucy returns to his hotel, kills his bodyguards, that's when he knows that he has to do something. At the climax of the movie, he enters Professor Norman's lab and points a gun at Lucy's head from behind, wanting to kill her, but when he shoots and right before the bullet strikes, Lucy disappears!

Want to know why? and how? It's up to you whether you want to watch and find out :p

Malacca Day 2 & 3

*blow dust*

It's been so so long since I last blogged :( I broke my promise again GAHHHHHHHH

But here I am, back with my Malacca trip post. Can't believe time pass so fast, it's coming to the end of August already. What did I do for the past 8/9 months?! o_O

I really can't remember what we did on the 2nd day in Malacca cause it was so long ago. Guess we did some discussion and lots of fun. and yes, selfies :p Now everyone should know why is taking picture so important. Mainly because we are too forgetful, but pictures can capture the moment and our slightest memories :')

I shall let the pictures do the talking now. After lunch, most of the people decided to head back and enjoy the rest of their Sunday lazying at home. But that's not us! So Malacca City, here we come! Right before we leave, our excited (or retarded) face ><

I remember it was a burning hot day, and we walked around with a monopod :p

Went to this cafe because of the unique name, Malaysia 13 States' Coffee. From what I heard, the owner really went to all the states and try all their signature coffee and bring it back to Malacca :)

Love his/her idea of bringing all the coffee from other states so people can try all the coffees in just 1 place :) Good job there! :D

The interior of this cafe is so unique and it's crazy to think about the effort that the owner put in just to decorate the whole place. Don't understand why? Let's see. This is what you see when you step in

And if you think the cafe is small, you're wrong! Walk in and you'll see...

Every corner of this place is so nicely decorated! Just imagine how long it takes to do all these. Incredible

I even saw this ...

Don't get what I mean? Okay, let me zoom in

HAHAHAHAHA! Dilarang membuka mulut selebar ini, means Do not open your mouth as wide as this! :p

Saw this hanging on the plant. Awwwww :') It's always good to feel appreciated

#fakecandid of me and my partner in crime, Sumita

Tried some of their snacks too :p

The Famous Curry Laksa. Wasn't too bad but nothing to shout about.

Finger foods :)

And of course, coffee! Tried Johor coffee this time :)

Satisfying meal :D

Not sure if anyone knows that there is a lot of shops selling pretty kebaya in Malacca. Long story cut short, we saw beautiful kebaya and I couldn't resist myself so I bought 1 set :) Only for RM150! Mad cheap :D

*sorry no pictures because we were too busy and excited trying on the kebaya.

Walked around and took pictures again :)

The Christ Church

See how well we utilized  the monopod? :p Stopped at a store for cendol but unfortunately, the cendol is lousyyy :(

At least they have some nice collection of Coca-cola which worth a picture.

Continued our journey and went into this shop! So amazed by most of the things that they sell there.

This pretty sums up our short 3 days 2 nights trip in Malacca :) But before I end. Let me spam you with some of the pictures we took before checking out from our room :p

The people I treasure :)
